Sage Payroll

Course Overview: 

This course is designed to be an introduction to SAGE computerised packages using Line 50 Payroll software, which is one of the fastest growing Payroll software packages in the UK.

 

Entry Requirements: 

It is preferable to have experience of manual payroll but this is not essential.  All students are expected to have a basic level of computer skills. Open to students of all ages

Course Delivery: 

There is 'hands on' computer work combining theory and practical plus computerised Payroll use of Sage line 50 including: 

  • Production of payslips
  • Entering staff details
  • Changes to tax rates, NI rates, SMP, SSP, SPP, SAP
  • Holiday planners
  • Pension schemes
  • Variations to payroll including overtime, bonuses, commissions, expenses
  • P11’s, P32’s, P35’s, P45’s, etc.
  • Year end calculations and HMRC form completion

All tuition is based around classroom lectures by highly qualified and experienced members of staff. There is a final short assessment plus a portfolio of evidence supplied by the student.

Progression Opportunities: 

Opportunity to progress to the Association of Accounting Technicians courses in Accountancy. The course also provides a qualification that employers are looking for.
