Knowledge Transfer Partnership

KTP projects are funded by Government and provide an opportunity for organisations (businesses, public sector and voluntary) to collaborate in knowledge transfer activities.

A recently qualified graduate is based in the organisation and an academic from the college works with him/her to achieve the aims of the KTP project. This three-way partnership benefits the organisation, the graduate and the college.

By participating in Knowledge Transfer Partnerships a company or organisation can:

  • Access qualified people to spearhead new projects
  • Access experts from the college
  • Develop innovative solutions to business problems
  • Increase its competitive advantage
  • Increase profitability
  • Grow

On average, a KTP project with the college will result in an annual increase in profit of £220,000 before tax, the creation of three new jobs and an increase in the skills of existing staff.

Why KTP with Gower College Swansea?
The college is the largest further education provider of these projects in the UK and has developed and delivered over 90 projects and won numerous awards.
