Traineeships
Traineeships are funded by the Welsh Government and are available to 16-18 year olds - they won’t cost you a penny!

Engage - aims to address any learning barriers that may be preventing you from committing to full time work, training
or education.

Traineeships Level 1 - aims to identify and address learning barriers that prevent you from entering into vocational learning at Level 2 or entering employment.

Bridges 2 Employment Level 2 - is aimed at learners who are occupationally focused and have completed Level 1. Entry criteria applies please, contact us for further information.

What are the benefits?

  • payment of Training Maintenance Allowance (pro rata);

Steps to Employment
Steps to Employment progammes are for adult learners aged 18 or over looking to return to work after a period of unemployment and are in receipt of DWP allowances. Adults seeking to join the programme must undertake a pre-entry eligibility check with Jobcentre Plus.

Work Focused Learning - aims to address any learning barriers that may be preventing you from committing to full time work, training or education.

Routeways to Work - this employer led, short, occupationally focused, bespoke training programme is tailored to individual/groups of employers who are looking to recruit individuals. These programmes guarantee a job interview upon successful completion.

What are the benefits?

  • gain qualifications at Level 1 or 2;
  • develop your essential skills (communication, application of number, ICT, working with others, improving own learning and problem solving);
  • training premium;
  • childcare support for lone parents;

Armed Forces Preparation Course
This is a 13 week full time course (Monday - Friday, 9.30am - 4.30pm). Three courses take place each year starting in September, February and April.

Learners will participate in a wide variety of activities which will provide them with a clear understanding of a career in the Armed Forces. They will receive a weekly training allowance of £50 throughout their time on the course (some contribution to travel costs will be required).

The course aims to:

  • prepare young persons considering enlisting in the Armed Forces by providing a thorough introduction to the entry requirements and induction process;
  • overcome the barriers to entry experienced by some potential recruits due to a lack of basic skills and physical fitness; and
  • enable young persons to recognise and work towards the skills and abilities which will assist in gaining entry and enhance promotion and career prospects in the Forces.
