The academic year is drawing to a close and what better way to end the year than with a showcase of performances by Gower College Swansea’s BTEC Extended National Diploma Performing Arts class at the Llwyn y Bryn campus.
As the final Performing Arts class to have been held at Llwyn y Bryn campus, students Tristan Gjertsen, Aimee Thomas, Zoe Nash, Poppy Kneath, Adam Botto, Abigail Summerhayes, Andrew Gough and Jade Dando will perform a scripted performance and showcase their Film / TV Acting production as they end the year to move onto higher education, new work and directions.
‘The Gut Girls’ by Sarah Daniels, directed by Rachel Dooley, is a comedy performance exploring the role of the women of the gutting sheds, whose quirky mannerisms and brash behaviours portray the lifestyle, politics and status of that time. This performance will be shown at Llwyn Y Bryn Theatre (Uplands) on Wednesday 20th June at 7pm. Admission £3 / £1.50
‘Sins of a Saint’ by Tristan Gjertsen is a film production, directed by Stephanie L Taylor. This is the story of ‘the saint – a killer that left no clue and gave no mercy - the agent, a genius servant of the people - the mother, who went on a personal crusade to get back her kin at any cost – the journalist, determined to expose the truth and leave no stone unturned – the police, who used and abused the law’s long arm in the name of justice and the detectives, who used all of their abilities to discover the truth’. This performance is a red carpet event to mark the end of an era and will be shown at Llwyn y Bryn Theatre (Uplands) on Thursday 21st June at 7pm (opens at 6:30pm). Admission £3.
