Business Studies
Course Overview
This course aims to develop an enthusiasm for studying business from a range of perspectives. The behaviour of a wide variety of organisations will be investigated in terms of their ability to meet society’s needs and wants and also the ethical dilemmas and responsibilities they face.
Throughout the course, students will be encouraged to generate enterprising and creative solutions to business problems
and issues:
- The business framework
- Business functions
- Business decision making
- Business strategy and planning

Delivery
Requirements
GCSE Maths grade C or above is recommended. No previous knowledge of Business Studies is required.
Progression
Business Studies is a valuable subject and many of our students go on to study the subject at university. It is a potentially useful subject for all students – today’s A Level students are the managers of tomorrow – and you will find it really valuable to gain an insight into how business operates. It is also very useful if you think that you will want to set up your own business one day.
Additional Information
Students will be required to purchase textbooks. The course may involve trips which will require a contribution from students.
