Business and Accountancy Academy

Course Overview

This course is ideal for those who wish to study business and accountancy. The qualification will include the professional qualifications of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and the Welsh Baccalaureate.

It will offer students the opportunity to study business functions including marketing, human resources, management, and IT with an emphasis on business and accountancy.

The qualification will include:

  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business.

Study units include:

  • Business environment - business resources
  • Managing a business event - business accounting
  • Introduction to marketing
  • Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 2 and Level 3*
  • Welsh Baccalaureate

Duration:Two years | Qualification: BTEC Diploma | Level: Level 3

Delivery

The course is assessed by vocationally relevant continuous assessment, written assignment, individual investigation and examinations.

* AAT qualifications are exam based and will require a pass at Level 2 in order to progress to Level 3.

Classroom hours are 20 per week.  All Level 3 courses will require considerable extra work outside of classroom time.

Requirements

Seven GCSEs at grade C or above (including Maths). Level 2 Diploma at Distinction plus GCSE grade C or above in Maths

Progression

Employment in business or accountancy sector, progression to AAT4 (potentially as work based learner) or Higher Education. 

Additional Information

Students all participate in a UK/International visit which is funded by the student. Trips to local business centres will take place which will require a contribution from students.
