Business Administration

Course Overview

This course is an introduction to working within the business and administration sectors. It includes the Level 1 Certificate for IT users. It prepares students for the world of work and may allow progression to the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Business.

This course has 14 units (37 credits) for the full Diploma. Study units include:

  • Unit 19 – Creating business documents
  • Unit 17 – Welcoming visitors
  • Unit 14 – Working in business and administration
  • Unit 20 – Recording business transactions
  • Unit 12 – Preparing for work placement
  • Unit 22 – Business administration group project

Duration:One year | Qualification: BTEC Diploma | Level: Level 1

Delivery

The course is assessed by vocationally relevant continuous assessment and practical observation. Classroom hours are 13 per week. 

Requirements

No formal entry requirements.

Progression

Employment in Business Administration or progression to a Level 2 programme such as BTEC Business Level 2.

Additional Information

Trips to local business centres form part of the course and will require a contribution towards travel and expenses.
