Business (Tycoch)

Course Overview

This course is ideal for those who wish to study business, financial services, marketing and business management. The qualification will include the professional qualifications of the Institute for Financial Services (IFS) and the Welsh Baccalaureate. It will offer students the opportunity to study business functions including marketing, human resources, management, and IT with an emphasis on business and finance.

The qualification will include:

BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business

Study units include:

Business environment - business resources
Managing a business event - business accounting
Introduction to marketing
Institute of financial services (IFS) Level 3 Certificate and Diploma*
Welsh Baccalaureate

Duration:Two years | Qualification: BTEC Diploma | Level: Level 3

Delivery

The course is assessed by vocationally relevant continuous assessment, written assignment, individual investigation, on-line examination and written examination.

* IFS qualifications are exam based and will require a pass at Certificate level in order to progress to Diploma level.

Classroom hours are 20 per week. All Level 3 courses will require considerable extra work outside of classroom time.

Requirements

Four GCSEs at grade C or above / Level 2 Diploma at Merit or Distinction

Progression

Employment in business sector or progression to Higher Education.

Additional Information

Students all participate in a UK/International visit which is funded by the student. Trips to local business centres will take place which will require a contribution from students.
