Beauty Specialist Techniques Diploma QCF

Course Overview

This Diploma has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills. Throughout the year you will develop your practical skills and work on clients in a commercial salon environment.

Within the qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety, client care, communication and related knowledge of Beauty Therapy at Level 2.

The units are:

  • Make up
  • Client care and communication
  • Lash and brow treatments
  • Health and safety
  • Facial skin care
  • Contribute to the running of business
  • Waxing/sugaring/threading techniques
  • Display stock
  • Manicure/pedicure
  • Reception
  • Anatomy and physiology

Duration:One year | Qualification: VTCT | Level: Level 2

Delivery

You will attend college for 19 hours per week. Practical skills are assessed throughout the course during client sessions. Students will undertake assignments and written tests for each unit of study. You will also be required to produce a portfolio of evidence. Home study as directed by the tutors.

Requirements

Minimum of four GCSEs at grade C or above (including English and preferably science).

Applicants will need excellent communication skills, have a positive attitude and be enthusiastic about their chosen career. Applicants must also have the ability to work as a member of a professional team.

Progression

This qualification may lead directly to employment in the Beauty Therapy industry as a junior beauty therapist in a salon or self employment as a therapist.  Alternatively you may wish to apply for Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy treatments or Level 3 Holistic Therapies.

Students will be required to purchase a kit and uniform.
