Beauty Therapy Treatments Diploma QCF

Course Overview

This course has been specifically designed to develop your practical beauty therapy skills.

Throughout the year you will develop your practical skills and work on clients in a commercial salon environment. Within the qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety, client care and communication and related knowledge of beauty therapy at Level 3.

Units studied:

  • Facial and body electrotherapy treatments
  • Body massage including pre-blended oils
  • Self tanning
  • Epilation
  • Health and safety
  • Client care and communication
  • Working in beauty related industries
  • Anatomy and physiology

Duration:One year | Qualification: VTCT | Level: Level 3

Delivery

You attend college for 19 hours per week.

Practical skills are assessed throughout the course during client sessions. Students will undertake assignments and written tests for each unit of study. Students attend work placement one day per week and this is an integral part of the course. You will also be required to produce a portfolio of evidence. Home study as directed by the tutors.

Requirements

Applicants require NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy or an equivalent beauty specialist qualification. All applicants will be required to attend a trade test and one to one interview with subject specialists. Applicants must have the ability to work as a member of a team and possess excellent communication skills.

Progression

This qualification may lead directly into employment as a senior beauty therapist in a beauty salon/spa or self employment.  Alternatively, you may wish to apply for Level 3 Holistic Therapies or L4/5 HND in Spa Management.

Additional Information

Students will be required to purchase a kit and uniform.
