
Complementary Therapies Diploma
Course Overview
This four-term course includes the major use of holistic therapies for use in general practice.
You will study:
- Aromatherapy and reflective practice;
- Reflexology and reflective practice;
- Swedish massage and reflective practice;
- Anatomy and physiology, pathology;
- Less common pathology;
- Health and safety/Legislation;
- Principles and practice of complementary therapies;
- Business practice for complementary therapies;
- Stone therapy
Duration:Four terms | Qualification: VTCT | Level: Level 3
Delivery
The course covers a range of units along with written assignments. A variety of practical assessment will be carried out.
A portfolio of evidence will be produced.
There is ongoing assessment with one multiple choice assessment in anatomy and physiology.
Requirements
This course is suitable for mature students with a good general education. Applicants will attend an interview.
You will need to have a positive attitude and be enthusiastic about your chosen career. You must have the ability to work as a member of a professional team and have a well presented appearance.
Applicants will be required to sit a written entry test.
Must possess four GCSE grade C or above. Must be age 18 or over.
Progression
Upon successful completion you can progress onto the part time HND Advanced Therapies and Spa Management.
Employment ppportunities can include health spas, salons, cruise liners, working abroad, etc.
Additional Information
Students will be required to purchase a kit which consists of a uniform and essential equipment. There is an opportunity to visit a spa for a day
