Principles and Practice of Manual Handling - Award

Course Overview: 

This course provides practical and theoretical information on the proactive management of manual handling activities in the workplace. The assessment includes a practical element and demonstration as well as a multiple choice test.

The course is suitable for all employees and managers with responsibility / involvement in manual handling activities at work. This course does not cover the manual handling of people.

The CIEH Courses are nationally recognized and respected qualifications, designed and quality controlled by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

Entry Requirements: 

No previous Health and Safety knowledge is required.

Course Delivery: 

Modules include:

  • Manual handling operations regulations
  • Process of manual handling in the workplace
  • Manual handling injuries and activities that cause them
  • Manual handling assessment and control options
  • Practical application and assessment
  • Multiple choice test

Candidates should note that CIEH Level 2 courses are assessed by a multiple choice test.

This CIEH Level 2 course is delivered as a one day session.

A certificate is issued by CIEH denoting successful achievement of the course.
