Principles of COSHH - Award

Course Overview: 

This ½ day course is designed for people who use or come into contact with hazardous substances in the workplace. The course will enable students to proactively identify hazardous substances and contribute to their safer use through the application of legislative standards and COSHH assessment.

The CIEH Courses are nationally recognized and respected qualifications, designed and quality controlled by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

Entry Requirements: 

No previous Health and Safety knowledge is required.

Course Delivery: 

Modules include

  • Definition and types of hazardous substances in the workplace
  • Health effects of hazardous substances
  • Responsibilities imposed by the COSHH Regulations 2002
  • COSHH assessment and hazard controls
  • Multiple choice test

This CIEH Level 2 course is delivered as a ½ day session.

A certificate is issued by CIEH denoting successful achievement of the course.
