
Executive Coaching and Mentoring - Certificate
This programme is suitable if you are a practising senior leader/manager or work in a training and development role and you already have some experience of coaching and mentoring. It will equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform effectively as a coach/mentor as part of your leadership or management role in either the public or private sector.
By the end of the programme you will:
- Understand theories of coaching
- Have practised your coaching skills extensively in a supportive environment
- Have been challenged and supported to improve your performance
- Be able to share your skills with colleagues
- Be confident that your own coaching practice is both safe and relevant.
Modules studied are:
- D7.01 Critically reviewing the role of the leadership mentor or executive coach in developing leadership performance
- D7.02 Critically reviewing own ability to perform effectively as a leadership mentor or executive coach
- D7.03 Undertaking leadership or executive coaching
The programme duration is one year.
Practice based research has demonstrated the important contribution coaching can make to employee development and organisational performance. It can help people to address underperformance, clarify goals, enhance their problem solving ability and support them in new or changing roles.
