Professional photographer inspires students

Professional photographer Peter Price has paid a visit to Art and Design students at Gower College Swansea.

Peter’s visit to the Llwyn y Bryn campus was part of the Welsh Assembly Government’s Dynamo Project initiative, where inspirational role models spend time with young people in schools and colleges.

During his visit Peter, who runs his own business in Swansea, met with students who are currently on the Level 2 Diploma course before progressing to the Level 3 Extended Diploma.

“Peter talked about the importance of being innovative and creative, of having a vision and a passion for what you believe in,” says lecturer Marilyn Jones. “He was an inspiration to the students as his photography skills developed at college and have since taken him all round the world. They have also been really impressed with his work, which often portrays dramatic seascapes and surfing scenes.”

“Thanks to the Dynamo Project and the Youth Entrepreneurship Strategy we have been able to invite lots of inspiring professionals to Gower College Swansea,” says Enterprise Education Manager Sue Poole. “As well as talking about their personal journeys, they have held workshops and Q&A sessions, which really help to motivate students and encourage entrepreneurial thinking.”
