Another prize-winning Welsh student!

Gower College Swansea student Kay Warrington scooped a £50 prize at this year’s National Eisteddfod in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Kay, a Welsh for Adults student at the Tycoch campus, won a writing competition based on the theme of ‘A Conversation Over Coffee’ that was open to all Entry level students.

“We’re really delighted as this is the fourth time in five years that a student learning Welsh at the college has won a competition in the National Eisteddfod,” says tutor Llinos Davies.

The winning students in previous years were Michael Gooderham in 2010, Sue Mortimer in 2009 and John Parry in 2008.

Kay initially enrolled on a Mynediad 1 course and has now progressed onto the Sylfaen 1 level.
