College holds audition workshops

Gower College Swansea

Aspiring dancers and singers will have the opportunity next week to audition for one of London’s most vibrant performing arts institutions.

Representatives from CPA Studios are holding an audition workshop at Gower College Swansea’s Gorseinon campus on 17 October. Acting as a regional centre, the college will also welcome auditionees from Coleg Sir Gar and Neath Port Talbot College.

The students will be put through their paces by CPA’s Head of Dance Aaron Francis, who will take a ballet barre and jazz combination class, and Head of Musical Theatre David Barber who will follow with a singing masterclass. After the auditions, all the students will be able to gain practical advice and feedback.

“Every student who comes to the audition workshop will have the opportunity to be considered for the three year Musical Theatre course at CPA should they so wish,” says David Lloyd Jones, Creative Arts Learning Area Manager. “This is a golden opportunity to have an audition on home ground and will serve as excellent preparation for students who may be considering applying to specialist colleges in the coming weeks.”

Prior to the audition sessions, students at Gower College Swansea will also enjoy workshops with Aaron and David.
