Accommodation
The International Office can help you arrange your accommodation before you arrive and provide ongoing support during your stay. There are two types of accommodation available to students.

Homestay accommodation
Living with a family in vetted and risk assessed homestay accommodation will not only help you learn all about Welsh / British family life, but more importantly give you an opportunity to practise your English.
You will have a single room in a comfortable home. There may be other students living in the house, but they will not be of the same nationality.
If you are under the age of 18, you must live in homestay accommodation, unless you can provide written permission from your parent or guardian that they are happy for you to live elsewhere. This is in line with our International policy and procedures, as student wellbeing and safety is extremely important to us.
Unless you have relatives in the area with whom you will be living, we also recommend that all students stay with a host family for the first month so that you can receive extra support during the early part of you stay in Swansea.
Costs
- £119 per week (includes breakfast and evening meal, plus lunch on the weekend).
- 30% retainer fee to secure your accommodation fee when you are away.
- £55 administration charge for arranging Homestay accommodation payable to the College.
Please note that, before the college can issue your CAS number, a deposit of £1000 towards your Homestay accommodation must be paid.
Renting a house or flat
If you are used to living independently, and over 18 years of age, this may be the best choice for you. You can either share a house or flat with other students and be responsible for your own cooking, cleaning and payment of bills or live on your own.
Most students in private sector accommodation live in shared houses normally comprising of a number of single bedrooms with kitchen, bathroom(s) and sometimes a sitting room. Houses let to students are almost always furnished. The standard and the type of equipment provided will vary from house to house as all furnishings are provided by the landlord.
Costs
Approximately £80 to £100 per week (in shared accommodation).
These costs do not include gas and electricity but usually include water rates. While we can help you to find rented accommodation, we have not inspected the properties and any agreement will be between you and the landlord, not the college.
We will try to fulfil your rented accommodation request, but cannot guarantee it.
