How to apply - International students

How do I apply to become an International student at the college?

Step 1: Application stage (for International students only)
You can either apply online by clicking the button below or you can download an application form.

Or email your form to the International Office at international@gowercollegeswansea.ac.uk

Once we receive your form we will ask you to send us:

• a copy of your passport and visa pages
• copies of all school certificates with approved English translations
• a copy of your IELTS Academic Certificate or equivalent

Step 2: Conditional offer letter stage (for International students only)
If your application is successful, the College will issue a conditional offer. The conditional offer letter will state what you have to do in order to be accepted for enrolment at Gower College Swansea.

Step 3: Confirmation Stage (for International students only)
If you accept our offer, please inform us as soon as possible. Once you meet the conditions of your conditional offer and pay your deposit, you will be sent a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) letter stating all the details the College has submitted to the UK Border Agency. This will not be issued until three months before the start of your course. You need these details to apply for your student visa from the British Embassy or High Commission in your home country. We strongly advise that you apply for your student visa as soon as possible after your CAS has been issued.

Step 4: Accommodation (for International students only)
One you received your visa, please contact us to make arrangements for coming to study at Gower College Swansea. If you require Homestay accommodation, complete the accommodation booking form, fill in and send it to the International Office as soon as possible. All students aged under 18 must stay in Homestay accommodation.

A £55 administration fee is payable for arranging Homestay accommodation. We will try our best to find you suitable accommodation and will contact you with options.

Step 5: Arrival and Transportation (for International students only)
Cardiff Airport is the nearest airport and flights to Cardiff connect through Amsterdam. If you arrive at Cardiff Airport, we will arrange to collect you and bring you to Swansea at no extra charge. Collection from other airports is only available for group arrivals. Please check with us if this service is available before you book your flight.

Step 6: Welcome
Once you arrive in the UK and are settled in to your accommodation, the International Team will meet you on your first day at college to give you information, advice and help with enrolment.
