mCommunity Project Launch Event with Ospreys at Liberty Stadium

mcommunity

The Small and Medium Size Enterprise (SME) aspect of the mCommunity project was recently launched at the Liberty Stadium.  The event coincided with the Rabodirect PRO12 fixture between the Ospreys and Munster.

Present at the launch were representatives from the three colleges involved in the project; Gower College Swansea, Pembrokeshire College and the Telecommunication Software and Systems Group (TSSG) based at Waterford in the Republic of Ireland. Also attending were some of the projects students and their employers, who are benefitting from the development of the mCommunity app, currently loaded on to assorted Samsung, Google and Motorola android devices. The event, which was partly sponsored by Samsung and Orange, was an opportunity for all project partners, beneficiaries and contributors to discuss developments and share their experiences and ideas for future developments.

The aim of the mCommunity project is to engage a variety of learners through the use of mobile technology.
The mCommunity tutors at Gower College Swansea - Rob Murphy and Adele Morgan - will engage learners who are currently employed in SMEs, and those currently not in education, employment, or training (NEETs).
The mCommunity Project is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Ireland/Wales cross border programme INTERREG (4A).
