Freshers’ Fayres welcome students

With street dance, martial arts and Zumba on offer, there were plenty of energetic events for students to enjoy at this week’s Freshers’ Fayres.

“The Freshers’ Fayre is a fantastic opportunity to welcome students to the college,” says Learner Services Manager Anne Pitman. “New students can to get to know each other, pick up useful information, join clubs and sports teams and have a go at the many activities on offer. I’m delighted that so many local organisations have again supported us by attending this year’s event.”

Among the attendees were Careers Wales, Info-nation, the Terrence Higgins Trust and South Wales Police. College organisations such as the Kenya Education Community Project and Enterprise also had stalls and were hoping to sign up as many students as possible.

There will be plenty of activity for first year students when they attend the Gower College Swansea Freshers’ Fayres this month.

With spin routines, street dance demonstrations and kettlebell workouts there will be plenty of energetic events for students to enjoy.

“The Freshers’ Fayre is a fantastic opportunity to welcome students to the college,” says Sport Development Manager Rob Baynham. “New students can to get to know each other, pick up useful information, join clubs and sports teams and have a go at the many activities on offer. I’m delighted that so many local organisations have again supported us by attending this year’s event.”

Over 25 organisations are expected to attend the events ranging from student groups (such as The Kenya Project, Environment Group and the Student Council) to local projects and community groups.
