Free sessions for Adult Learners’ Week!
Adult Learners’ Week is the biggest celebration of learning in Wales, coordinated by the Learning and Work Institute in partnership with the Welsh Government. It aims to inspire adults to discover a passion for learning and skills development and show them that it’s never too late to start learning.
This year, Adult Learners’ Week takes place Monday 18-Sunday 24 September, and Gower College Swansea is offering an array of free online sessions. Discover your passion for learning, brush up on your skills, improve your wellbeing or support your career development. Never stop learning!

Monday 18 September
10-10.30am: Leadership in the Making: Management apprenticeships at Gower College Swansea
A micro-teach session on the principles of leadership and management, which will cover the theories to inspire best practices when leading and managing teams.
12.30-1.30pm: Upskilling your workforce: Shared Prosperity Fund insights for employers
This employer dedicated session will outline the opportunities available through the Shared Prosperity Fund for Digital, Employability and Multiply. The initiatives are designed to upskill individuals and employees in Maths and Digital skills for free, should the eligibility criteria be met. Employers will be able to learn more and ask questions, in order to understand and utilise the interventions offered by Gower College Swansea.
1-3pm: Bilingual apprenticeships: Exploring opportunities at Gower College Swansea
A drop-in session to find out what Gower College Swansea can offer bilingually on apprenticeship programmes, as well the opportunities to use Welsh when on a course.
Tuesday 19 September
11-11.30am: Keys to your future: An overview of Housing qualifications at Gower College Swansea
This session will explain the benefits of Continuous Professional Development (CPD), not just to individuals but also to organisations and the wider environment. Reference will be made to different models and frameworks for CPD and reflective practice, before providing an overview of the different housing qualifications available at Gower College Swansea.
1-1.30pm: Your path to career success: Apprenticeships demystified
Apprenticeships provide a cost-effective solution to an organisation's training and recruitment strategy, whilst allowing individuals to upskill and progress their career. This session will debunk common myths surrounding apprenticeships, including funding, age restrictions and commencement points.
2-2.30pm: Unlocking your potential: A guide through our Information, Advice and Guidance development pathways
Working in a role that involves providing advice and guidance to others? Our webinar will allow you to pick up some key takeaways for information, advice and guidance, and learn more about the pathways available.
3-3.30pm: Sustainable Resource Management: Shaping a greener future with Gower College Swansea
Covering sustainability and environmental good practice, gain an understanding of how an organisation's core business activities influence air, land and water, and the impact of these activities on the wider environment.

10-10.30am: Drive your Digital Transformation with Higher Apprenticeships
1-1.30pm: Managing excellence in Business Administration
2-2.30pm: Unlocking the potential: The role of Facilities Management in organisations
This session will provide an overview of Facilities Management, as well as its impact on organisations.
Thursday 21 September
10-10.30am: Building Clinical Excellence: The path to success with Gower College Swansea
This session will allow current and aspiring healthcare workers to gain an understanding of how the clinical apprenticeship route will develop their skills and knowledge, as well as how the qualification can be tailored to their needs.
Friday 22 September
10-10.30am: Apprentice to expert: Digital Marketing at Gower College Swansea
In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, it's essential for businesses to stay ahead of the curve and leverage the power of digital marketing to thrive.
