Every alumni member is a testament to the College's legacy, a living embodiment of its enduring commitment to excellence in education and lifelong learning. From business moguls to international artists, rugby celebrities to renowned chefs, Gower College Swansea has shaped individuals who are making waves in every corner of the globe.

Some of the College’s notable alumni include, Welsh rugby players and sport personalities, such as Leigh Halfpenny, Jazz Carlin, Justin Tipuric, Alex Callender and Niamh Terry. And internationally famous performers, such as Joanna Page and Katherine Jenkins.

Last year, Joanna Page was awarded the College Fellowship at the 2022 Graduation ceremony, by Chairman of the College’s Governing Body, Meirion Howells, recognising her outstanding contribution to film, theatre, and television and for continually raising the profile of Swansea on both a national and international stage. 

Amongst the College’s alumni, there are also acclaimed chefs, such as Adam Bannister, Slice chef and Great British Menu star and Jonathan Woolway, former chef-director of the renowned St John's restaurant group in London, who is about to open a restaurant in his hometown of Swansea after 15 years working at the iconic 'nose to tail' restaurants.

Jonathan Woolway did his A Levels in History, English and Sociology at Gorseinon College and he says: “A Levels equipped me with many transferable skills and stood me in good stead for my career as a Chef. Through study - and with the support of my tutors at Gorseinon College - I learned discipline, commitment, communication, how to prioritise, how to work and excel under pressure, how to meet and honour important deadlines and how to work respectfully in a group environment.”
