This step forward marks another exciting chapter in the College's Esports journey as it continues to make waves in the competitive gaming landscape and participate in its first major LAN event.

A special night for our star apprentices, employers and tutors

Gower College Swansea has held a special awards ceremony at Swansea.com Stadium as part of Apprenticeship Week Wales 2024.

The event, which honoured the outstanding commitment and dedication of the College’s apprentices, staff and employer partners from across Wales and England, was hosted by presenter/broadcaster Ross Harries who has been the face of Welsh rugby for more than a decade.

Guest speaker for the night was Lucy Cohen, co-founder and CEO of Mazuma, the first subscription-based accounting service for small and micro businesses.

Creative skills on show for Design 48 event

Students on a range of creative and visual arts courses at Gower College Swansea had a fantastic opportunity to meet with employers and artists during the second annual Design 48 showcase, which was held at the Gorseinon and Llwyn y Bryn campuses.

The idea behind Design 48 was developed by the College in partnership with Rachael Wheatley of Waters Creative.

Gower College Swansea HE Graduation 2023

Around 120 higher education students from Gower College Swansea celebrated success recently at a special graduation event at Swansea Arena.

They were there to celebrate their achievements in a wide range of higher-level courses including business, criminal justice, computing, engineering, and childcare.  

“I’m so proud to once again welcome everyone to Swansea Arena where we can celebrate the academic achievements of all of our higher education students,” says Principal and Chief Executive Officer, Mark Jones.

Gower College Swansea appoints new Principal

One of Wales’ largest further education colleges, Gower College Swansea, has appointed Kelly Fountain as its next Principal.

Kelly, former Vice Principal for Academic Services at NPTC Group of Colleges, will take up the position in January 2024.

Kelly will bring more than 20 years’ experience to the role, with a proven track record of strong strategic leadership and management, and a breadth and depth of senior experience in complex and multi-faceted organisations.
